2008-Apr-20 - Under the spell of the tulip

Posted in Dutch Art

These paintings are made by Els Schuring, a Dutch artist who was inspired by the fanciful shapes and colourformations of this flower.
She was born in Naaldwijk in the Westland, the bulb-growing area of the Netherlands.

Her work of art is spreading around the world, as her paintings are to be found in, among other countries, South Korea, Germany, Spain and in Great Britain.

Lots of lovely works. The tulips on the south side of our house are poking up above the dead grass. Before long, we may have some photos.

I thought you'd become a student of Georgia O'Keefe when I saw these on your slide show... Yes they are quite lovely paintings!

Thanks Jeeps! To much honour. I am going to find out who this lady is!!
I found out who she was! A great artist and her style is quite remarkable. She was born in1887 and died in1985.. So I could have been a pupil of hers after all.
